A little scenery for ya

Kotzebue is blessed with fantastic view of the treeless mountains of Cape Krusenstern National Monument and Noatak National Preserve.  A week ago, people were still ice fishing a little ways from shore.  In a week this ice will be gone and the sun won't set for 38 days.  Photo taken at 11pm, temps in the high 30s.

  1. What a fantastic picture! It is so interesting - it is like you live in a world of extremes - your venture out on Memorial weekend - beauty and ugliness, peace and death, adventure and walking through the tundra.
I'm sure you are gathering memories of a lifetime!!

    Keep it coming. Barb
